Dragon's Rise Challenge

These are the artworks I did for the Dragon's Rise challenge. I joined relatively late, so I only had about 1,5 weeks to do these designs. I started by sketching silhouettes for the characters and creatures, sketching over it, lineart and then colouring. I wish I could have spend a little more time on each design, but it was for a fun and interesting challenge. I wanted to go for a more dark fantasy vibe, but it changed a bit in the course of the illustration. I imagined a crew of different characters that are aided by the dragons to overcome different obstacles. I wrote a small bio for each character, I have a bigger worldbuilding in mind, but its not final. I imagined the "Order of the Light" to be an religious order worshiping an ever-burning fire, where the priestesses live seperated from the other people. They are horned humanoids which are looked at with certain sceptisism from the townsfolk. In this setting Sédana, one of the priestess, on day has to leave the monastery and find out about her past and familiy, and in the course of it realizes what the order all has been about. On the way she meets these different characters that help her on her journey.
